Happy new year!
Or as we say here in the PH, “manigong bagong taon!”
(Now, there aren;t no glaciers or even snow in our country… I don’t know why I drew this. It just felt right at the moment.)
I wrote a twenty-paged document to greet everyone, but I’ve been told by my lawyer that it was “too wordy” and that the video I wanted to embed was quote unquote “unnecessary and mildly racist coming from half-an-Islander… which you are not.”
Drama or no drama, 2014 has been one incredible ride; filled with opportunities to get to know and connect with people, work on exciting projects, expand one’s interests, pretend you read Michael Crichton books, and watch Scott Pilgrim vs the World for about a billion times.
Just like in finale of Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra, we are entering a new age… Okay. So not that over-dramatic, but it is a new year. In a few days, perhaps we’ll get used to writing 2015 instead of 2014 when filling up forms. Perhaps we’ll finally get to do yoga. Like, real yoga and not that kind of play-by-ear stretching you say you learned from YouTube. Perhaps you’ll consume less energy drinks this year. (Spoiler alert: you won’t.)
I hope you had a great vacation, ate good food and were surrounded by good people. May you have a prosperous, humorous, less cynical 2015.
